IT’S A WHALE OF AN EXHIBIT AT SEA LIFE™ CARLSBAD!

Today SEA LIFE™ Aquarium hosted the public debut of “Beach Trash, A Whale of a Problem,” an inspirational project teaching kids they really can make a difference – one piece of trash at a time. Six first grade classes from Jefferson Elementary in Carlsbad have been collecting beach trash since October and have worked with environmental artist Teresa Espaniola to turn it into a life-sized gray whale mosaic – all while learning about the ocean and the role they can play in saving our seas.

One winner was selected each week in November. Winners were ranked by their closeness to the exact number of bricks and the closest guess was the winner.

From Nov. 2 to 30, SEA LIFE was transformed into a haven for those who dream of living in a pineapple under the sea.

SEA LIFE™ Aquarium Adopts San Elijo State Beach for California Coastal Cleanup Day

SEA LIFE™ Aquarium is committed to keeping our oceans clean – join us at San Elijo State Beach for California Coastal Cleanup Day Sept. 19 from 9 a.m. to Noon. Volunteers at San Elijo State Beach will be joined by employees of LEGOLAND California and SEA LIFE Aquarium. Each volunteer receives a free child’s ticket to SEA LIFE Aquarium and the first 200 will receive I ♥ SEA LIFE t-shirts. Volunteers are asked to register in advance at www.cleanupday.org.
